But you didnt have to spend ~$1000 for a tunable ecu either. I tried Malone again but the nearest dealer to me in SoCal is half a days drive.

I spent a lot of money with them but unfortunately had to go with a different tuner now for deletes. Most people have existing problems with the hardware or know that they're coming.
