This might seem like a daft question, but what kind of apples would you use. This looks like a winner Nadia, I’m trying to cut back on the amount of sugar in my son’s diet as it’s affecting his behaviour, so I’m going to try out some of your suggestions. Having the peel does lead to a darker color, but if you’re adding cinnamon it will be darker anyway. I’ve never made my own applesauce, and I most certainly should with my kids!! Thanks for sharing . This is safe because it increases the acid. Set to “Pressure Cook” on high pressure for 10 minutes. This is what I use when I cook and bake with applesauce also.

Empty the sauce into containers and let it completely cool before refrigerating/freezing. It’s great in oatmeal with some cinnamon! Amazing how great it tastes without all the added sugar and preservatives. Made with the apple peel for more fiber and cinnamon for a flavor boost without any added sugar. The only adjustment I ever make to this recipe is that I add lemon juice to taste if I want it to be more tart. My only suggestion would be not using all soft apples or the sauce will end up extra mushy (since we’re blending it up anyway it doesn’t matter toooo much). If you’re using a softer apple, such as a McIntosh, you might want to combine it with something tart and crisp like a Pink Lady (my personal fave).

I keep my sauce in glass mason jars, but you need to leave a lot of room at the top if you’re doing this, because water/fluids expand when frozen and you might end up with cracked glass. Yours looks perfect!!! I double checked with food safety and they confirmed this. Now I’ll never have to buy store bought applesauce again!
